Tour for Kids Atlantic: The 3 Day Ride

Get ready for a grassroots, back to basics, do-it-yourself Tour for Kids Atlantic happening on the world-class Cabot Trail. Enjoy the winding roads and sweeping vistas of this unique part of Canada. We’ve partnered with GIVETOLIVE, a volunteer-based organization from Halifax to bring you another memorable edition of the event hundreds of cyclists and volunteers already know and love, with a unique East Coast twist.

Pre-Ride – Thursday, August 2

Accommodations:  Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground

Address: 9584 Trans-Canada Hwy 105 / 8 km West of Baddeck

All cyclists and volunteers are invited to camp at the Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in preparation for our early start on Friday morning. Camping is complementary with your registration fee but you will need to arrange your own meals at night.

Tour for Kids Atlantic

Day 1 – Friday, August 3

Riders arrive with bikes and luggage in Baddeck, Cape Breton Island.

Start Location: Baddeck – Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground , 9584 Trans-Canada Hwy 105 (8km from Baddeck town centre)

End Location: Ingonish

Accommodations: Ingonish Campground

Cycling Distance: 103 and 155km, with a challenging climb over Smokey Mountain and 3 optional hikes!

Accommodations:
Enjoy our evening program, relax at Ingonish Beach and enjoy a Campfire Sing-a-long and prepare for Day 2!

 

Tour for Kids Atlantic

Day 2 – Saturday, August 4

Start Location: Ingonish

End Location: Cheticamp

Accommodations:  Cheticamp Campground -  16719 Cabot Trail

Cycling Distances: 106km or 144km, over French Mountain and Mackensie Mountain

Enjoy another great evening program, perhaps enjoy a whale watching tour, or just enjoy the Acadian delights of Cheticamp and enjoy a Campfire Sing-a-long.

 

 

Tour for Kids Atlantic

Day 3 – Sunday, August 5

Start Location: Cheticamp

End Location:  Victoria Highlands Civic Center/Arena

Cycling Distances: 96km with lots of downhills to bring you home!

You made it! We’ll celebrate with a BBQ at the scenic Victoria Highlands Civic Center/Arena in Baddeck. You can reminisce about the weekend, pack up your car and start calling all your friends to join you next year.

Our start location is Baddeck, on Cape Breton Island,  which is approximately 4.5 hours from Halifax.
