Making a Difference
Thursday, August 16, 2012 - Sunday, August 19, 2012
The NEW route
Gorgeous Simcoe County will play host to this year’s Tour for Kids. The ride northward to Barrie begins from a yet to be confirmed location on the fringe of the GTA. Basecamp for all three nights is the stylish residence of Georgian College. For the next 2 days, we’ll explore the maze of country roads stretching to the shores of Collingwood and faraway Pentanguishene. Sunday, we finish strong on a southward cruise back to the city. Riders doing the 100km route rejoice. There is no bussing this year!
Details regarding all aspects of the ride will be released in the weeks ahead.

Swanky accommodations.
The rooms at Georgian College are arranged as suites with 2-6 bedrooms sharing a kitchen (no stove) and a 1-2 bathrooms. Each bedroom has either a single or double bed, A/C, and a window that opens!
If you'd like to share a double bed with a consenting adult, and you didn't already tell us when you registered for the ride, now's your chance.
If you'd prefer to share a hotel room with a friend, a limited number of rooms have been secured a short distance from the campus. Dedicated shuttle buses will operate on a convenient schedule between the hotel and the campus. Each room has 2 beds. If demand exceeds supply, rooms will be allotted by lottery at no additional charge. By paying $70 per room per night, you and your guest will be guaranteed a room.
Shuttle buses will not be provided for other off-campus locations.

Distances
The primary route each day is a rewarding "Metric Century" distance of 100km. For those looking to test their legs further, step up to the meandering "Century" of 100 miles (160km). For riders that quailify, go for broke on the excessively long 200km "Extended" route. Whatever your ability, you're sure to share the journey with someone traveling at your speed.
