Volunteer Packing List
4-day volunteers: MAXIMUM 2 pieces of luggage
2-day volunteers: 1 piece of luggage
Clothing
- 2 pairs of long pants
- 2 – 4 pairs of shorts
- 2-3 t-shirts and/or tank tops
- 2 – 3 long sleeve shirts
- Bathing suit
- 1-2 warm sweaters or sweatshirts
- Underwear
- Socks
- Pyjamas – group sleeping arrangements on Saturday night
- Running shoes and/or sandals – if you are going to be on your feet for many hours – key to comfort.
- Warm jacket for cold mornings (it’s always cold at 5:30 am!)
- Toque
- Sandals or running shoes
- Rain jacket and rain gear
- Sunglasses
- Light weight mittens
- Tour For Kids volunteer t-shirts from prior years
- 4 Day volunteers will be receiving 2 volunteer t-shirts and 1 long sleeve t-shirt
Accommodations
Participants will sleep in university residence rooms at Trent University the evening of August 19thth and August 20st, and very nice (read new!) group camping cabins the evening of August 21st at Camp White Pine. Riders should prepare for cold nights and bring:
- Sleeping bag (proven for -5 Celsius)
- travel size pillow
- flashlight / head lamp
- cell phone alarm for early morning wake ups!
Other items to pack
- toiletries (soap, shampoo, razors, face cloths, baby wipes, toilet paper and/or Kleenex)
- towel
- spending money. Tour for Kids clothing will be available for purchase during the Tour (credit card/cheques preferred) and tickets for alcoholic beverages in the evening.
- Insect repellent
- Sunscreen
- Motrin, Aspirin or other preferred pain relief medication
- Digital camera
- Cell phone – please ensure organizers have a current cell # for you.
